Annual Connection is a unique three day event, bringing together cable jointers, line mechanics and industry stakeholders from across New Zealand. The event consists of competitions, a suppliers expo, and closes with an Awards dinner.

WaipÄ Networks owns and operates the lines, transformers and substations that deliver power to more than 40,000 customers in WaipÄ region. We’re 100% owned by the WaipÄ Networks Trust on behalf of the community, delivering reliable energy services and solutions for our community’s growing needs.
Our history goes back to over 100 years ago when Te Awamutu and Cambridge’s Electric Power Boards were set up. They joined forces in 1993 and were finally named WaipÄ Networks in 1998. Fast forward to today, and we’re proud to work with Connexis | Te PÅ«kenga and The Lines Company to co-host the Annual Connection 2024, a three-day competition showcasing the skills of line mechanics and cable jointers.
The Lines Company is proud to keep over 18,000 customers connected to electricity throughout the King Country, Ruapehu District and Central Plateau. Our network covers an area of 13,700 square km with over 4,500km of power lines, providing safe and reliable electricity to homes, businesses, and the community. We employ over 140 staff, with around 80% of our hunga (people) living locally on the network.
